Ah, of course.

Mister Hanniger suffers from a condition brought on by severe trauma.

Before his coming here, while he has no factual documentation, he was institutionalized for..quite some time.

While our previous sessions left me with initial doubt and left my diagnosis inconclusive I believe that based on his recent onset of blackouts and memory loss I would say this is largely characteristic of a split-personality. 'Dissociative identity disorder' is the more recent terminology. However, as is common for cases like these, Tom has no awareness of the other persona.

Hanniger and I spoke briefly several days before his arrest. At that time I had my suspicions, but thereafter I confirmed them. I am under the impression said persona is known as Harry Warden—your killer, Mister Wright.

As I have eliminated physical disorders prior to our counsel I will be forwarding the scans and notes taken to your office. I should hope they will prove useful.

It is my strong recommendation that Tom Hanniger be placed under psychiatric care or a respective facility where he might be treated at length.

[He's so grateful...finally a case he feels prepared for.]

Thank you, Dr. Seward. If you could please also forward the same documents to the state prosecution I'd appreciate it, as I'm sure Prosecutor Godot would.

Please. You needn't thank me, Prosecutor Wright. I am happy to assist in what ways I am able. Expect to see the papers in the morning.

[This felt too familiar..Much the same had happened with his first patient, Amamiya Kazuhiko. Only that time he'd not gotten the chance to spend time with him at length given the interference from the police. It struck a somewhat sour note with the doctor, as he'd been removed from his care.]

There are...still some aspects of Mister Hanniger's mental malady that do not make sense to me. This other persona seems highly charged to commit murder, though for what reason I cannot deduce as of yet.

I would like to gain visitation rights to confer with my patient.

It's just Mr. Wright. I'm Mr. Hanniger's defense attorney.

I'm sure if you share your relationship to my client they'll grant you rights at the holding centre. If not just phone me and I'll make sure that they let you in.

[The rarity of the condition..With the added pairing that the persona itself tended towards the murderous habit, was indeed puzzling. He would have to think on it more thoroughly, if not directly observe Tom Hanniger's dual nature..

Just Mister Wright..? Did the man value his title so little that he—But now was not the time, Seward.]

Mister Wright, then. My apologies. I'm afraid my English formality often takes precedence in these situations.

[As he's come to learn not everyone subscribed to his Victorian customs.]

That's very gracious of you. Thank you for informing me. I shall make haste to do so should the circumstances allow.

[identity profile] lawyerific.livejournal.com 2011-03-02 09:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah no, please. It's just that I'm not a prosecutor. The only thing I have in common with my opponents in court is that we both took the bar exam.

[And rarely much more than that.]

[identity profile] psyd-seward.livejournal.com 2011-03-03 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
Dear me. It seems I've made a grave error in that assessment. I don't know what I was thinking. The American terminology had me confused, for you see I more commonly hear 'barrister' and 'solicitor' in matters of law.

[Clearly he's not a lawyer.]

[identity profile] lawyerific.livejournal.com 2011-03-03 04:19 am (UTC)(link)
It's perfectly fine. It's not like there's a test. Thank you so much for your input, Doctor, I'm very grateful for your efforts on behalf of my client, and for the time you took to speak to me.

[identity profile] psyd-seward.livejournal.com 2011-03-07 09:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Please, do not worry yourself, Mister Wright. I am more than happy to assist. Mister Hanniger's situation is unique, but also unfortunate. I am glad you are sympathetic to his cause.

Should you need anything else, I trust you will seek to speak with me again. In the mean time I shall see about visitations.

Good day to you, and farewell.

[And with that he disconnects the transmission, making arrangements to forward the necessary documentation, which Mr. Phoenix Wright and respective parties would receive very first thing in the morning.]
